SHAD BESIDES MIX – 2011
BLOGGERTRONIX MIX BY DJ FBLOCK
The concept is a novel one…the ‘Feed the DJ’ collective based in Cardiff, Wales, recieve tracks from another DJ or Producer, and then one night mix them live off the floor at a wee club called the ‘Buffalo Lounge’.
Along side the live mix they do an eight question interview the DJ|producer. I did one such interview and track selection with the crew a few months ago…selecting some Bloggertronix fave’s and new tracks from some sharp new bands to go in my hour long set.
To read the interview and fond out more about the founder behind the blog check –
So who’s on the mix? Many people you know, and maybe many you don’t know! It includes joints from – Alcoholic faith mission, Ghostpoet, Tidy Kid, Kotchy, Sneaky, Deportivo, Buck65, Frederik Tiege, Salem, Dels and more…

MC RQM Shares His Vision and Scope…
A while back I Posted a tour diary entry written by RQM entitled; ‘Istanbul – Jahcoozi – The War in Iraq – Drug Smuggling – Police Detention’, the story recounted an unnerving experience that the MC had in Turkey as he made the trip from Barcelona to Instanbul to perform a show with Berlin’s Jahcoozi. The musicians trip was a difficult one, but he delt with the issues he faced with grace and peacefully, he learned a few things and dutifully shared his findings in his story.
RQM is an avid traveler, an alien floating from one city or country to the next, has lived in Poland, New York, Berlin and now calls Barcelona his home, he has been hot on my radar for some time and has worked with many artists and bands that I hold in high esteem, Al Haca, Stereotyp, Oliver Grimball and Filewile to name but a few.
The following is a feature on RQM shot by Berlin’s TOBY for ‘Berlin Watch’, in it the Musician discusses the differences he has found working and living as a musician in Berlin as opposed to New York, the way in which he started his career as a lyricist, producer and MC, and what he feels the future has in store for the music biz…
RQM – won t stop till…
At the end of last year RQM released his debut solo 12″ Miss Pacman on Exploited Records, and is now working to release a full length by the end of this year…Stay tuned!
Jahcoozi Kickin Back In Berlin –
Jahcoozi are a brilliant Electro-Glitch Mash-up group based in Berlin who are made up of members from all over…Germany, London and Tel Aviv….RQM performs with them regularly….The bands brand of electro-glitch music sports intelligent yet cheeky lyrics and is bound to get your bum a shaking!
Check out this video of the band hanging out in Berlin, blitzing the streets with their signature lightening bolt stickers (Promoting the release of their last record ‘Blitz ‘N’ Ass’) and kicking it relaxed styles, chatting about their adopted city and the music scene.
Todd P Throws His Non-SXSW Party In Austin…
Todd P (Mr. Todd Patrick) is one of the most influential and pivotal driving forces behind the independent D.I.Y music scene in NYC. He throws underground music parties all over Manhattan and Brooklyn, supporting amazing independent musicans, bands and artists as well as using some of the most unlikely spaces as venues (lofts, warehouses, resturants). His shows are always cheap, aways all ages and always too much fun.
This year during SXSW, and as a response to the mega corporate, commercially funded festival, Todd P descended on the home of the SXSW festival, Austin Texas, with a Free all ages non-sxsw patio party event…100+ bands signed up for the showcase which spanned over 5 days and took place at various locations around Austin…
Check out this promo video for the Independent D.I.Y music event that provided many bands and music lovers with exciting, inspiring and advertisment free entertainment this past weekend in Austin.
Ladies and gents, meet Mr. Todd Patrick…
Todd P recently announced that he will be taking a wee break from full blown promoting over the next few months to focus on other projects, but we doubt his passion for the independent music scene and show promo will subside for long, so stay tuned!! But in the mean time check out the below links for more info on this top notch, fierce, independent music promoting machine –
